The idea of Peace Poles was first thought up by Masahisa Goi in 1955 in Japan. The Peace Pole Project today is promoted by The World Peace Prayer Society as well as other groups and individuals. The first Peace Poles outside Japan were constructed in 1983.[2] Since then, more than 100,000 have been placed around the world in over 180 countries.  Gabrielle Schwarz will chair the project.  Please see Gabrielle if you would like to help with the planning.        Bob Rice
Here are a few more information. A PEACE Pole is a hand crafted monument made out of vinyl. That displays the message and prayer:
On each of it 4 or 6 sides usually in different languages.
They serve as constant reminders for us to visualize and pray for WORLD PEACE and CONFLICTS RESOLUTIONS.
The PEACE POLE could be placed in a Elementary schoolyard, in front of a library, in a public park.
I will keep you posted and will need your help to make this project a signature of Chandler Rotary Club.
Sincerely Gabrielle Schwarz
